چکیده

Our reasoning is clearly fuzzy, so why is crisp logic so often adequate? We explain this phenomenon by showing that in the presence of noise, an arbitrary continuous (e.g., fuzzy) system can be well described by its discrete analog. However, as the description gets more accurate, the continuous description becomes necessary. 1 Formulation of the Problem Fuzzy logic is needed. Our reasoning is clearly fuzzy. Whenever we use terms like “small”, “young”, etc., there is no crisp boundary: some people are clearly

Fuzzy types: a framework for handling uncertainty about types of objects

Like other kinds of information, types of objects in the real world are often found to be ®lled with uncertainty and/or partial truth. It may be due to either the vague nature of a type itself or to incomplete information in the process determining it even if the type is crisp, i.e., clearly de®ned. This paper proposes a framework to deal with uncertainty and/or partial truth in automated reaso...

Crisp-type fuzzy logic controller using Dubois and Prade‘s parametric t-norm-sum-gravity inference methods

The inputioutput relationship of a class of crisp-type fuzzy logic controllers (FLCs) using parametric t-norm-sum-gravity inference method is examined. The explicit mathematical form of reasoning surface using Dubois and Prade’s parametric t-norm is addressed. Reasoning surfaces of crisp-type FLCs are proved to be composed of a two-dimensional multilevel relay and a local position-dependent non...

Mamdani Fuzzy Logic Controller with Mobile Agents for Matching

The task of a standard fuzzy logic controller is to find a crisp control action from the fuzzy rulebase and from a set of crisp inputs. In this paper we propose an extension of this type of reasoning using Mobile Agents which works with crisp data, intervals and/or linguistic terms as inputs and with various matching methods. For any matching one obtain a crisp value as output using Slave Agent...

Coverage Improvement In Wireless Sensor Networks Based On Fuzzy-Logic And Genetic Algorithm

Wireless sensor networks have been widely considered as one of the most important 21th century technologies and are used in so many applications such as environmental monitoring, security and surveillance. Wireless sensor networks are used when it is not possible or convenient to supply signaling or power supply wires to a wireless sensor node. The wireless sensor node must be battery powered.C...

Gödel Negation Makes Unwitnessed Consistency Crisp

Ontology consistency has been shown to be undecidable for a wide variety of fairly inexpressive fuzzy Description Logics (DLs). In particular, for any t-norm “starting with” the Lukasiewicz t-norm, consistency of crisp ontologies (w.r.t. witnessed models) is undecidable in any fuzzy DL with conjunction, existential restrictions, and (residual) negation. In this paper we show that for any t-norm...
